After the catastrophe of August 3, 2014, it was important to tell the European, but especially the German public what happened to innocent people – children, women, old and frail men – in Shingal in northern Iraq. Because they were denied to speak out, those in freedom must cry out all the more for justice and equity.

One of our first actions was to inform the capital Berlin about the barbarism that was taking place. Even if it was only a drop in the ocean, we opened the eyes of hundreds of thousands of people. Hundreds of thousands of Berliners were informed. And many of them did not remain inactive: whether through small donations, voluntary work or participation in demonstrations against the suffering of the Yazidis, much has been achieved and much will be done. For this the most heartfelt thanks to the generous Berlin and all its citizens with heart.
